A series of WhatsApp groups under the name “Vela Star Wam” have taken over the Vaal, causing chaos in relationships across the region.
The groups, which cover areas including Vaal, Sasolburg, Sebokeng and Vanderbijlpark, were allegedly created to expose cheating partners. Members post pictures, videos and names of people they claim are cheating on their partners.
In a matter of days, the groups have exploded, with thousands of people joining to either expose, be exposed, or simply watch the drama unfold.
For many, the revelations have been devastating. Several residents have reportedly discovered that their partners were cheating through screenshots, videos, pictures and confessions posted in the groups, leaving many heartbroken and ending long-term relationships.
“It’s no longer a secret. Everything is now out in the open. People are crying, fighting, breaking up,” one member said.
While some say the groups bring out the truth and hold cheaters accountable, others are warning that it will not end well.
